Rachel Teague – Music Teacher
I have a B.Ed (Hons) in Music from the Welsh College of Music and Drama/Cardiff Institute of Education and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Bath. I have spent most of my teaching career in U.K. National Curriculum based schools overseas, experiencing the Middle East, Uzbekistan and Thailand. I have taught music to students of all ages, from Nursery all the way up to Sixth Form.
I know it might sound strange, but I love music. It has been a large part of my life and I have been involved in choirs and amateur theatrical groups throughout my life. When I’m not listening to, speaking about or in any way involved in music, I enjoy travelling and finding out about different cultures.
I am looking forward to my life in St Petersburg and getting to know the children. Music is a subject both nurturing and creative. It has great benefits for the brain and learning, as well as being fun and enjoyable. I am excited to explore the city and discover more about its history and culture. I took a beginner’s course in Russian when I was at school and am looking forward to expanding my vocabulary.
