I have always worked with children and initially pursued a career in Nursery Education and Management in Wales, Greece, and Oman. I later completed a BA Honours in Social Work and worked as a Registered Social Worker in Child and Family Services in Wales. I moved to Saudi Arabia with my two sons to be with my husband, where I resumed my earlier career, teaching in an Early Years Centre. Whilst working there I obtained my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Early Years Education through Sunderland University. Since graduating I have taught both Foundation Stage 1 (FS1) and Foundation Stage 2 (FS2).
I am excited to begin the next chapter in my teaching career at The British School of St. Petersburg. I believe that being involved in the establishment of a new school is a great opportunity, which will enable me to use my skills, knowledge, and experience to support the youngest children at the school (the next generation) to fulfill their potential and build strong foundations for their lifelong learning journey. I strongly believe that children learn best when they are happy, engaged, have opportunities to take risks and explore, all within a safe nurturing environment.
St. Petersburg is a city that is rich in cultural heritage and I intend to fully embrace the culture and learn the language. Therefore enriching my own life experiences.
